The Fareham branch of charity Canine Partners, which trains dogs to help disabled people, is promising a dog show that is anything but ordinary next Sunday.

The Barking Bonanza event will see demonstrations from Tellington Touch, Hamble Hounds and Canine Partners at the Royal Victoria Country Park, in Netley.

There will be more than 40 stalls and activities including classes, agility and other demonstrations and displays, happening between 11am and 4pm.

Chris Seward, from Titchfield, is a volunteer at Canine Partners.

She said: ‘When you see what they can do for people it’s absolutely amazing. It’s a very interesting charity to work with and for, you actually see an end result, you see a dog, you see it go off with somebody and you see it change their lives.’

The event will also include a talk from Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists on the Alabama rot disease which has affected some dogs along the south coast.

The event will also have talks from psychologists and other vets, as well as refreshments and the chance to win some human and dog prizes at the tombolas.

Entrance to the event on Sunday, May 1, is free but each activity does require a £1 donation to the charity.
