A DEER died in a collision between the animal and a motorcyclist on the M27 earlier this month.

The collision at 9.29pm on August 9 was initially reported to have been between a car and a motorbike.

However, attending the scene on the eastbound carriageway at Junction 11, officers discovered that a deer had wandered on to the carriageway, leading to the crash.

The motorbike rider, a man in his 50s, sustained minor injuries in the collision, while the deer died as a result of its injuries from the incident.
