IN a rare photo opportunity, Navy, RAF and Army personnel have been snapped on the same vessel.

The Army and RAF servicemen and women have been getting their sea legs aboard the HMS Richmond in the South Atlantic.

Seven troops from The Yorkshire Regiment and 230 Squadron RAF were given the opportunity to stay on board and experience sea life.

Flight Lietenant Adam Piper of 230 Sqn RAF said: ‘It was an excellent opportunity to experience this environment.

‘All of our group thoroughly enjoyed the visit and hope to arrange more in the near future.’

The Type 23 frigate undertakes many maritime security operations and will return to Portsmouth early next year.
