BAE Systems has announced it is to retain both of its shipyards in Glasgow with an investment of £100m.

The company will spend the money to improve and expand manufacturing facilities at the Govan and Scotstoun yards.

It comes as BAE Systems shut down its shipbuilding operations in Portsmouth, in November 2013, leaving nearly 1,000 employees out of work.
