MIGRANTS were rescued from a crammed wooden boat by the Royal Navy.

Sailors on HMS Bulwark helped 369 migrants on the endangered ship attempting to cross waters north of Libya.

The Albion-class assault ship deployed five landing craft to help the hundreds, including 50 small children.

She will now help transport more than 800 stranded migrants to safety.

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon praised the crew but said there was work to be done.
