HMS Daring has taken part in a multinational task force operation while on deployment in the Gulf.

The Type 45 destroyer acted as the command ship for Operation Scimitar Anzac, which saw the Portsmouth-based warship working alongside Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Pakistani, Australian, New Zealand and Yemeni naval forces.

HMS Daring can be seen at the back of RFA Wave Knight and flanked on either side by HMAS Parramatta and PNS Barbur.

The aim of the exercise was to see the four ships in operation in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and off the Yemen coast.

Petty Officer Lee Butler said: ‘Seeing all of the different nations working together onboard Daring was very encouraging.’
