AN EXTRA 7,000 civil servants are to lose their jobs at the Ministry of Defence in addition to 25,000 posts already axed in last year’s cuts.

Union leaders called the decision ‘shameful’ and defence officials have also expressed concerns about the job losses.

But the MoD said the cuts would ensure front line forces had maximum funding.
