Design your own temporary marines tattoo

The future Type 26 global combat ship for the Royal Navy

Doubts cast over fresh plea to name Type 26 frigate HMS Portsmouth

Have your say

FROM the globe and laurel to the commando dagger, Royal Marines tattoos have a long history and now members of the public are being offered the chance to create their own temporary version.

The Royal Marines Museum is holding a half-term event where anyone can come along and create and design their very own temporary ‘tattoo’ linked to the history of the Royal Marines.

The event is free with a valid museum ticket and will be running from today until Sunday from 11am to 4pm at the museum on the Esplanade in Southsea.

More information about the museum and the event can be found by visiting the website at
