ONE of the Royal Navy’s most advanced warships hosted two royal guests in five days.
HMS Daring showed off her prowess to Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince Michael of Kent.
The countess, accompanied by her children James, Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Windsor, was special guest at the ship’s families day.
The royals pretended to fight a fire, tried out the captain’s chair on the bridge and donned headsets in the operations room – the fighting heart of the ship.
Daring’s ship protection force gave a display to Prince Michael.
Commanding officer Commander Phil Dennis said he was delighted to host the royals.
