LEARN how to dress, talk and even pack your bags like a sailor at an upcoming Naval Traditions Community Day.
The National Museum of the Royal Navy at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard will host the event to give people a taste of life at sea and the traditions that enrich a sailor’s life.
Visitors can take part in a mock ‘crossing the line’ ceremony which sailors do when crossing the equator.
They can also perform in a sailors’ Sods’ Opera, find out about the rum ration, and play uckers and other popular games at sea.
Navy veterans will be on nhand to tell stories about life at sea.
The free event will be on Saturday, September 20 from 1pm to 6pm.
