Navy engineers help students to perfect their Lego robots

ON May 14, SAS troops attacked the Argentinian base on Pebble Island and destroyed supplies and 11 Pucara aircraft.

HMS Glamorgan provided naval gunfire support as 45 SAS troopers and one naval gunfire observer launched the raid on the airstrip.

One Argentinian soldier was killed in the assault and two British troops were injured.

Britain’s ambassadors to the US and the UN were summoned back to London on this day and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher warned Britain that a peaceful settlement may not be possible.

Meanwhile, three Argentine Skyhawk aircraft were shot down by Sea Harriers operating from HMS Hermes.
