Navy engineers help students to perfect their Lego robots

SAILORS on board Portsmouth-based HMS Richmond have been recognised for their hard work in the South Atlantic.

The commander of British forces in the region, Air Commodore Russell La Forte presented the frigate with a commendation while she patrols the region as part of her seven-month Atlantic deployment.

The ship’s company was praised for their dedication, professionalism, and capability at conducting security patrols there.

Commander Robert Pedre, the ship’s commanding officer, said: ‘I am immensely proud of the significant contribution HMS Richmond and my ship’s company has made to the maritime security and reassurance during this seven-month deployment.

‘We have a critical role in protecting our nation’s interests and I am honoured to receive this prestigious commendation on behalf of my ship’s company.’
