SAILORS from Gosport are due to set off on a 56-mile field gun march through the New Forest.

The Royal Navy team, from HMS Sultan, are replicating the 56 miles Royal Marines marched in 1982 during the Falklands War from San Carlos to Port Stanley.

Yomping through the roads and lanes of the New Forest with a field gun will take the team around two and a half days.

The challenge will finish at Beaulieu on Sunday.

They are raising money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
