HMS Dragon’s busy deployment continued with the joint Indian and United Kingdom Maritime Exercise Konkan 18.
It follows on from the vessels role in the recent successful anti-narcotics seizure in the Indian Ocean,
HMS Dragon arrived in Mormugoa, Goa, India last week to prepare for the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to further the Royal Navy and Indian Navy relationship which will benefit both parties through sharing expertise and identifying future collaborative opportunities.
This initiative builds on the successes of previous collaborative work between the UK and India. Recently, the British Army participated in the bilateral Exercise Ajeya Warrior and the Royal Air Force and Indian Airforce enjoyed training together in Exercise Indradanush.
HMS Dragon has already worked with the Indian Naval Ship Kolkata, a modern stealth guided-missile destroyer, launched by the Indian Navy in 2014.
