HMS Prince of Wales: Drone footage shows Royal Navy carrier as she heads out to sea

The £3.1 billion Royal Navy carrier is on her way to Liverpool where the public will be able to tour her first for the first time.

HMS Prince of Wales set off from Portsmouth Naval Base at about 9am and passed the Round Tower shortly after, before heading towards the Isle of Wight.

The aircraft carrier, which is based in Portsmouth, is due to arrive in Liverpool on Friday, February 28.

Free tickets for one of the 15 minute tours sold out within an hour of their release last week.

Following her visit to city, the £3.1bn supercarrier is due to tackle her next phase of sea tests ahead of her first trials with the F-35 stealth jet.
