CITY leaders from Portsmouth were due to visit Rosyth Dockyard this morning to view progress on the building of HMS Queen Elizabeth.

The Royal Navy’s new aircraft carrier is due to return to Portsmouth at some time in 2017.

Portsmouth City Council leader Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson, David Williams, chief executive of the council and Anne-Marie Mountifield, chief executive of the Solent Local 
Enterprise Partnership, were due to make the journey to Scotland.
