A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 2.53pm on Wednesday, October 3 after the body of a man in his twenties was discovered in a flat on Fratton Way.

‘His death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘The man’s next of kin have been informed.

‘A file has been sent to the coroner.’

The News reported last year how scaffolding had been put up at the block, with residents told they face a bill between £33,000 and £47,000 to fix cladding.

There was a dispute between Linden Homes South, the 2009 apartment builder, and current owner Aviva Investors REaLM Ground Rent over who should pay.
