SAILORS and marines from a Portsmouth-based warship have been hunting down pirates from Saudi Arabia.

HMS Westminster has been unleashing her boarding teams on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s warship Makkah in an exercise.

Royal Marines from Westminster boarded KSA Makkah while it pretended to be a suspect ship with pirates on board.

The marines showed off what they can do, demonstrating their techniques in boarding, crew restraint and handling.

Exercise Red Alligator is part of the Cougar 13 exercise, which is honing the skills of the UK’s Response Force Task Group.
