POLICE are urging the public to help them clampdown on drug dealers.

The plea comes after officers arrested a 29-year-old from London on suspicion of possession of class A controlled drug in Fawcett Road, Southsea on Saturday.

As well as the drug offence, he was also arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property. He has since been released but remains under investigation.

A police spokeswoman added: ‘Tackling drug-related harm in our city is a priority for us and information from residents and businesses in the area can help us ensure we are doing all we can to disrupt this type of activity within our communities.’
