A TEST of the naval base’s nuclear emergency siren will take place tomorrow morning.

Portsmouth Naval Base is conducting the routine test at 9.30am.

The sound, a wavering tone, will last for one minute.

It is tested three times a year – on the last working days in February, June and October – as part of the nuclear emergency response plan for the navy base, in accordance with the city council’s nuclear safety plan.
