Remembrance fundraising success for HMS Sultan volunteers '“ as they raise £160,000

A TEAM of 70 volunteers from HMS Sultan in Gosport showed their support for the Royal British Legion by helping out at London Poppy Day.

The group raised a total of £160,418.49 in 12 hours '“ with Chief Petty Officer Simon Bailey from HMS Sultan thanking the public for their support.

He said: '˜To see how generous the general public can be on occasions like these was just amazing.

'˜Everyone involved was saying how this was possibly the proudest thing they've done in their uniform.'
