A ROYAL Navy policewoman based in Portsmouth has been rewarded for her loyal and outstanding service.

Master At Arms Vicky Schumann-Edwards, 32, received a Long Service and Good Conduct medal for distinguished service to the Royal Navy.

She said: ‘I am proud to have received this award as it is a true honour to be recognised for both myself and my family’s commitment and dedication to the service, the Queen and the country.’

Her service has included four deployments to the Gulf on board Type 23 frigates HMS St Albans and HMS Kent and service in the Mediterranean and Iraq on board the former fleet flagship HMS Ark Royal.

Her 16-year career began as an able seaman on board a Type 42 destroyer. She switched to navy police in 2004.
