TV star Jodie Kidd escorted 15 sailors to the finish line in a Team Sky Jaguar F-TYPE coupé on the final leg of their charity cycle ride.
She stepped in to support the sailors from HMS Queen Elizabeth on their 500-mile ride from Edinburgh to London.
The team, which also included five industry partners from the Aircraft Carrier Alliance, raised more than £4,000 for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, which supports sailors, marines and their families, for life.
Captain Simon Petitt, senior naval officer of HMS Queen Elizabeth, said: ‘It has been a remarkable challenge to cycle between the two affiliated cities of HMS Queen Elizabeth – Edinburgh and London – for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, which does so much for serving and veteran personnel of the naval service. I’m really delighted that we have done it. We have achieved it and all of us have got back in pretty much one piece.’
On their arrival, Admiral Sir George Zambellas, first sea lord and chief of the naval staff, presented them with colleagues’ donations.
