FAMILIES of people serving in the armed forces will benefit from a night of song and dance.

Musician Peter Lindsay is putting on a concert in aid of SSAFA, the Soldiers, Sailors, and Air Force Families Association.

Mr Lindsay said: ‘They support the families of service men and women in times of great hardship. We have had very generous support from local companies.

‘It is important that this organisation gets all the publicity and financial assistance to continue their good works. It is particularly relevant in today’s financial climate, particularly as the troops return from active service in the Middle East.

‘This year’s production is Strings and Things. The things element means music and dance from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

There is a mixture of nostalgic guitar and piano music, both semi classical and pop.’

The show is at Park Community School, Leigh Park, on October 5. Tickets are £7. Call (023) 9248 9836 or (023) 9247 0839.
