Advanced tickets are now on sale for the popular HMS Collingwood open day.
The annual event, sponsored by Eight Wealth Management, features the unique Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity field gun competition and takes place on Saturday, June 4.
Crews from across the UK and as far afield as Gibraltar will compete for the coveted Brickwoods Trophy.
Each crew of 18 highly disciplined, motivated, and physically fit field gunners, races to assemble an antique field gun and run with it, disassembling and reassembling as the competition requires, before dramatically dragging the gun home.
There will be plenty of attractions, entertainment and displays to suit all the family.
The attractions will include displays from the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team, plus an extensive recruitment zone with interactive activities and much more.
Visitors can see some of the training equipment used by today’s Navy and experience Royal Navy training first hand in the warship simulator, which will allow you to simulate taking a ship into harbour.
Conquer your fears on the HMS Collingwood’s high ropes course and listen to the Royal Marines Band Collingwood.
The gates will open at 9.30am and close at 5pm. The entry fee includes free parking, free buses from the local area and a free fun fair.
Advance tickets are child (aged 5-14 years inclusive)/OAP £4, adult £8 and family ticket £20. A family ticket includes two adults and three children.
