A WARSHIP is to be recommissioned back into action after a lengthy upgrade period.

Portsmouth-based Type 23 frigate HMS Kent will be formally returned to the fleet on Friday during a ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Base.

It comes after a period of refit that has seen the vessel’s capabilities enhanced. She is one of 13 frigates in the navy.
