ARTEFACTS discovered in the trenches of the battlefields will go on display.

The Spring, in East Street, Havant, is having an open day to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War.

Expert Charles Haskell will be sharing his knowledge and have a range of artefacts, including weapons, helmets, battlefield wire and hand grenades.

There will also be an opportunity to write a letter of thanks to those who have given their lives in conflicts. The letters can be attached to the museum’s Memory Tree. The event takes place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, November 8.
