A DRIVER lost control of his car and crashed into the central reservation causing long tailbacks.

The accident, at 12.30pm yesterday, led to long delays on the westbound A27 around Fishbourne, near Chichester.

Police closed a section of the road, between Tesco and Southbourne and vehicles were diverted along the A259.

Inspector Kathryn Bartlett, from Sussex Police, confirmed the male driver of the Ford Ka was uninjured and no other vehicles were involved.

The road closure was lifted at around 2.45pm.
