THE Dickens Fellowship is to hold an event to mark the anniversary of the author’s death.

On Sunday, June 9, there will be an evensong service at St Mary’s Church, Fratton, at 4pm, followed by readings from Charles Dickens’s novels. The theme of the evening will be Dickens and Friendship.

Then, on Tuesday, June 11, the Birthplace Branch of the fellowship will meet to discuss Little Dorrit, the branch’s book of the year.

There will also be a bring and buy sale and will be held from 2.30pm until 4.30pm. Call Geoffrey Christopher on (023) 9266 4205 to attend.
