RNLI Portsmouth Lifeboat launched yesterday morning to investigate an unmanned dinghy.

The Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Norma T was launched at 3.30am to investigate an dinghy seen drifting near South Parade Pier.

Once on-scene, the volunteer crew investigated the semi-submerged dingy and moved it to a waiting coastguard unit on the beach.

The holed dinghy appeared to have been adrift for a long time and had no signs of use.
