FIRE crews were called to tackle a dishwasher blaze.

One fire engine from Fareham fire station was sent to Kings Road in Fareham after electrical elements in the dishwasher caught fire early on Thursday morning.

The call came in at 12.25am and the fire was out by the time the engine arrived.

Firefighters used a fan to clear the smoke and had dealt with the incident by 12.45am.

The man who lived at the house called the service after his smoke alarm went off.
