PART of a major road linking a motorway to a town will be closed for more than a month.

A diversion for northbound traffic will be in place on the B2150 Hulbert Road, which lays between Junction 3 of the A3M and Purbrook Way, Leigh Park from January 10.

A spokesman for Havant Borough Council said the closure is necessary to facilitate junction improvement works which will be a long-term benefit to residents and businesses.

The works are being carried out by Osborne on behalf of Hampshire County Council and it is anticipated that they will last for a maximum of five weeks.

The alternative route for vehicles will be via Purbrook Way, Ladybridge Road, the A3 and the B2150.

A PDF map can be downloaded from havant.gov.uk/diversion100116. Advance notification and diversion signage will also be in place.
