The dog days are not as fun as they sound

There’s been some silly goings on in Dunyelping this week friends.

I just don’t know what to make of it – it’s got my fur standing on end.

It all started innocently enough. I was making my morning cup of canine coffee when, without even realising it, I put the milk back, not in the fridge where it belongs, oh no, but in the washing machine! Stupid mutt, I mumbled to myself, but I thought no more of it and continued about my day.

However, the next morning something else happened that I simply could not ignore. I had gone to bed as usual, tucked up in my kennel. By the time morning came and I woke, I had managed to sleepwalk myself on to the roof of my kennel. I’ve never been so silly and absent-minded before, so I decided to confide in a friend.

Turns out he himself, only that day, had got a bump on his head by running head first into a garden chair. Nothing unusual, he’s very clumsy, only it had left him speaking the odd word in feline.

We did some asking around and it all became clear. It appears that we’re in the midst of the dog days of summer. The name was given by the Greeks and the Romans to describe the hottest days of summer, as according to them it would turn their wine sour and make their dogs go mad.

Well we’ve all certainly gone mad here friends! I’ll leave you with this picture of me sleep walking to the roof of my kennel. It’s too funny not to share, so colour it in and send it back to me, Chipsters.

Chip chip for now. Chipper
