A STRUGGLING charity has received more donations from Pompey and local civil servants.

To mark World Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Cllr Paula Riches, joined Linvoy Primus and Pete Fincham from the Portsmouth branch of the Department for Work and Pensions at the Sarah Duffen Centre in Southsea.

Following a raffle of donated Pompey memorabilia, staff in Mr Fincham’s office had raised £1,800 which they gave to DownsEd International – a charity working with adults and children with Down’s Syndrome.

It has seen its funding cut in recent years but has benefited in 2011 from being one of the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities.
