Dress up as brides to celebrate The Guildhall as a wedding venue

Women across Chichester are being invited to make history and be among the first ‘brides’ to enter The Guildhall in Priory Park.

For the first time in its 700-year history, The Guildhall has been licensed for civil ceremonies, and to celebrate The Novium Museum team will be hosting an open day from 11am-midday tomorrow to showcase The Guildhall as a wedding venue.

To open the event, the team is encouraging as many people as possible to come along dressed up as a bride or a bridesmaid.

There will be a free glass of bubbly (or non-alcoholic alternative) and goodie bags for the first 50 attending on the day, as well as canapés provided by The Ship Hotel.

‘Whether you’re looking for an excuse to wear your wedding dress again, or just like the idea of getting dressed up, we’d love to see as many ‘brides’ and bridesmaids as possible to open the event in style,’ says Councillor Gillian Keegan, cabinet member for commercial services at Chichester District Council.
