MORE than £1m in funding has been secured with the help of an East Hampshire community group.

Community First East Hampshire (CFEH) has been offering groups and organisations support and advice over the last year.

Its free Big Lottery-funded Rural Outreach Project has aided people applying for funding, preparing application forms for grants and finding specialist advice to ensure they meet the requirements of potential funders.

By working with nearly 700 local groups, funding has been secured for local sport clubs, older persons groups, youth groups and to improve local amenities.

Mary Saunders, from Butser Ancient Farm, said: ‘CFEH has been really supportive, providing in-depth advice and help with submitting application forms.

‘Thanks to CFEH we have just been awarded over £10,000 of lottery funding. Their help has been invaluable.’
