SHOPPERS looking for fresh local produce are invited to an Easter-themed farmers’ market.

The Hampshire Farmers’ Market will be visiting Southsea next weekend and will feature decorated stalls and a range of Easter treats.

There will be plenty of ideas for Easter meals such as the traditional Sunday roast, and ready-made Easter sweet treats including traditional hot cross buns and handmade chocolate eggs.

Local farmers will also be selling a range of other produce including free-range meat and eggs, fresh fish, sauces and soups, cheeses, wines and ales, freshly-baked bread, seasonal vegetables and Hampshire honey. There will also be a selection of garden plants and bulbs.

Janet Lane, director of Hampshire Farmers’ Markets, said: ‘Southsea farmers’ market gives shoppers a great opportunity to browse the wonderful selection of produce and plants available in Hampshire. All goods are of local origin and the producers are more than happy to discuss their products.’

The market will take place in Palmerston Road on Sunday, April 17, from 10am to 2pm.
