FORMER University of Portsmouth student, adventurer and presenter Ben Fogle is coming back to the city to talk about his new book.

The animal-loving television star, who has rowed across the Atlantic, run barefoot in the Sahara desert and ice skated across Sweden, will discuss his second book, The Accidental Naturalist, at Portsmouth Grammar School.

He was most recently seen on our screens scuba diving with wild crocodiles.

Colin Telford, from Hayling Island Bookshop, which is organising the event on September 6, said: ‘Ben was charming worms and tickling trout for eight years on Countryfile, minding the big cats and grooming llamas with Kate Humble on Animal Park and was the main commentator at Crufts and a host of One Man and His Dog.’

Audience members will all receive a signed copy of Ben’s latest book and there will be the opportunity to meet him after the talk to have your book dedicated by him.

The event is in the David Russell Theatre and begins at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £15 and include a signed copy. Book on (023) 9246 6620 or buy them directly from the bookshop.
