A PRIMARY school is appealing to charities to come forward and claim dozens of green sweatshirts, polo shirts, black shorts, purple kilts and other clothing items pupils will no longer need when a new uniform is introduced in September.
Dawn Sharpe, who works at Kingscourt School in Catherington, will be asking parents to donate the old uniforms – but is keen to find out if there are any charities that could put them to good use.
She said: ‘We are changing our uniform supplier which will mean some of our uniform items will become obsolete.
‘It is all good quality clothing with lots of wear still left in it – rather than throw it away, we’d love our uniform to go and be worn again somewhere where resources are short and uniforms hard to come by.
‘There won’t be hundreds of items as we’re only a small school but hopefully we could kit out a class or two.’
Anyone who is interested in taking the uniforms, or knows of an organisation that would be, can call Dawn on (023) 9259 3251 or email email@example.com.
