Apprentice of the Year nomination

A HIGHBURY College apprentice has been shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Awards for Excellence.

Megan Baynes, who works as a local democracy reporter for the Isle of Wight County Press, said: '˜It feels very surreal and humbling to be shortlisted and I' m incredibly grateful to my tutor, Paul, and editor, Rachael who nominated me.' 

Rachael Rosewell, deputy editor of the Isle of Wight County Press, said: '˜I am delighted Megan has been shortlisted for the NCTJ Apprentice of the Year award. She has a mature approach and goes above and beyond to deliver top quality stories.'
