ART designers in Havant are being encouraged to get involved in a project.

Making Space has teamed up with the Portsdown Decorative and Fine Arts Society to offer an exciting new award for one budding designer aged between 15 and 18 living in the borough of Havant.

The winner will receive a free place on one 10-week or one five-week and one beginner Saturday course of their choice from the Making Space programme, which includes a wide range of craft forms.

They will also receive a mentoring session with a professional designer-maker who can advise on their portfolio and artwork.

Lynne Dick, the director of Making Space, said: ‘This is a very different kind of opportunity, which is ideally suited to someone who shows a particular talent for craft and making things by hand.’
