A YOUNGSTER with a terrific attitude to sport has been chosen as one of the lucky few who will be carrying the Olympic Flame this summer.
Liam O’Hare, a student at Warblington School, will be running through Petersfield filled with pride on July 16.
The 12-year-old was put forward by the school’s head of PE who said the young lad a ‘fantastic attitude towards life in general and also in sport’.
Liam’s chosen sport at Warblington is rugby where he and the Year 7 players are great friends as well as a force to be reckoned with on the field.
He also plays for the school’s rugby, football, cross-country and basketball teams.
Liam said: ‘I feel really privileged and excited to have been chosen. I know my mum and dad will be really proud of me.
‘It’s something that I will remember for the rest of my life – a story that I will be able to pass down through my family in years to come.’
Headteacher Julia Vincent said: ‘This is a wonderful opportunity for Liam and I am so proud that a member of Warblington School has been chosen to carry the torch.’
