THE founder of a multi-million-pound greeting card company will share the secrets of his success at a forum of business and economics students in Southsea next Tuesday.

Stephen Haines, who established Carte Blanche in 1987 with a portfolio of just 12 cards, grew it into one of the UK’s most successful companies. He will be speaking to a group of 14 to 18-year-old students from across the south at St John’s College.

Luke Rees, head of business at St John’s, said: ‘We are really pleased to have someone who is as successful as Stephen to present at our speaker circuit.

‘Stephen is such a good example of excellent business practice – someone who is driven and committed.

‘I am certain it will help to focus students who attend.’

Mr Haines, who is originally from Chichester but now lives in Guernsey, will talk about his career and give tips to students, parents and guests about setting up a business and how to make it successful.

After the presentation he will take questions from the audience.
