THE NSPCC has been chosen as the charity of the year for a group of nurseries.

Busy Bees Nurseries across Hampshire will raise money for the charity over the next 12 months.

Children at its nurseries, including the Portsmouth nursery, will be taking part in fundraising activities to raise funds for vulnerable young people.

Mandy Finch, NSPCC community fundraising manager for Hampshire said: ‘We’re delighted to be Busy Bees’ charity of the year and look forward to working with the children and staff over the next 12 months.’

Nursery manager Helen Tucker said: ‘The nursery has some great events planned throughout the year, which promise to be great fun for the children and their families while raising funds for those children less fortunate.

‘Our best wishes go out to them and to the NSPCC, and we hope the funds we raise help the lives of those brave children the charity supports.’
