A PSYCHOLOGIST has received funding from the FBI.

Professor Aldert Vrij from the University of Portsmouth has won two grants to study interview technique.

The first project will look at how investigators can build rapport with non-native interviewees, how they can tell if they’re lying, and ways of getting the most accurate information from them.

The second project will look at how the use of two interviewers influences the result of an interrogation.
