A SCHOOL celebrating its 80th anniversary this year is hosting a jumble sale to benefit its students.

Mayfield School in North End is inviting members of the community to buy a table for £5 and sell their items on March 24.

The event will run from 10am until 3pm and visitors will be asked to pay a 25p entry fee.

Drama teacher Richard Tyrrell, chairman of Friends of Mayfield, said: ‘We have come together to focus on fund raising and education, and to get pupils, parents, teachers, ex-pupils, and friends involved in the school and the local community.

The Friends of Mayfield are also appealing for memorabilia in connection with the school to mark the historic anniversary.

To book a table for the jumble sale contact Steph Manns on (023) 9269 3432 or email manns@mayfield.portsmouth.sch.uk.
