Co-op funding boost for education

EDUCATION providers across Hampshire have benefited from the Co-op’s Local Community Fund.

The scheme allocates one per cent of revenue from Co-op branded products to help support local causes.

The fund has raised over £3 million with £100,000 allocated to 50 Hampshire organisations.

Regional groups who have benefited include The Roberts Centre, Connors Toy Library and Portsmouth Down Syndrome Society.

Co-op director, Rebecca Birkbeck, said: ‘Support for young people and learning is an integral part of our ethos.’
