A fitness manager from Gosport has scooped a national title.
Ellie Woollam, 24, from Godwit Close, has won a Learner Achievement award from apprenticeship training provider, Lifetime Training.
Ellie, who works at Gosport Leisure Centre, received the Active Leisure Apprentice of the Year Award as part of the Lifetime Learner Achievement Awards which were held at the Tower of London last week.
Now in their fourth year, these annual awards recognise, reward and celebrate the personal successes and resulting career development of individuals who have completed an apprenticeship qualification with Lifetime Training.
She said: ‘There really are no words, I’m so excited to have won this award. I’ve come so far already and I can’t wait to see what the next few years hold.
‘To be recognised in these awards is a very proud moment, I can’t wait to tell my husband. The other finalists are all incredible so I feel very lucky.’
The fitness manager has already made her mark on the fitness industry.
At just 24, Ellie leads a team of 10 fitness instructors and personal trainers, 18 group exercise instructors and manages a timetable of 55 classes a week at Gosport Leisure Centre.
Her commitment to the role, passion to achieve the best results and energy for life has resulted in the leisure centre achieving the highest audit in the region (92 per cent).
In 2012 she was named LA superstar favourite class instructor, friendliest fitness instructor and as a result of her work with Technogym at the London 2012 Olympics, she became LA Fitness greatest team games ambassador.
Her dream is to become regional fitness manager by the time she is 28.
Alex Khan, the CEO of Lifetime Training, said: ‘From improving a person’s self-esteem to providing the leadership and management tools that help them climb the career ladder, these qualifications clearly mean more than just a certificate. The finalists are all inspirational, and the winners truly exceptional.’
