FORMER Coronation Street actress Denise Black visited a Portsmouth school where she was once head girl to give drama students top tips about the acting profession.

Denise, known to millions as the siren hairdresser Denise Osbourne, spent the day at Portsmouth High School, which she attended from 1963 to 1976. She shared her passion for drama with pupils and recalled happy memories at the school.

Drama scholars Kate Hill, Lara Hardwick, Millie Hunter, Lauren Wilson and Ellie Jones took the opportunity to bombard the celebrity with questions about working in the theatre.

Kate, 17, said: ‘Denise was inspirational.’

Denise, who is currently starring in Sister Act at The Mayflower in Southampton, will be performing at the Cellars at Eastney on March 30 and 31 in her show Loose Screw.
