A FORUM is to be held over a council’s bid to help improve schools over the coming year.

Portsmouth City Council has allocated £1.3m from its capital budget towards helping city schools.

The plans will be discussed in more detail at the meeting, to be held at 5pm on Wednesday.

It has also been recommended that attendees, to be made of school, church and political figures, approve a scheme where schools pay £5,000 towards urgent works that need doing up to the value of £15,000.

The event will be held in conference room A of Portsmouth City Council’s civic offices.
